My husband's pick
Every now and again Brett humors me and heads to the nursery with me. I appreciate it, since it probably ranks close up there in appeal as going to a fabric store with me (which he absolutely refuses to do). Anyhow, this was a pick of his to go into a pot of mixed plants out on the front patio. Aren't the colors of it gorgeous?

For Jen
When she was here last week she bought a couple of dahlia plants to shoot. Unfortunately between her Dr appts and pre-op tests, her surgery, and her recovery being a lot tougher than I think either of us thought it would be, she only got a few minutes to work with them. So, last night I took a few. This one is for you Jen :) Hope you're feeling better as each day passes!

I thought he was dead!
So I took my time shooting him, thus didn't quite get the shot I wanted. He scared the *you-know-what* out of me when he flew off!
I live in the city, and it isn't often I see a dragonfly, let alone one that hangs out long enough to get his portrait done. Imagine my delight this evening when I saw him on the heuchera in one of my planter boxes!

Breezy
I always feel extremely lucky when I can get macros in focus on a breezy day, just the slightest wind and poof, the subject is out of the frame!
This first one was the most difficult, clusters of tiny flowers (maybe 1/4") on long, thin stems.

I love the smell of lilacs, it's a shame they bloom for such a short time!

I believe this is a dogwood of some sort:
