SOOC:

And after playing a bit. SO not my style but it was fun doing it just the same:

Then I went way, way, WAY overboard and added some butterfly pics of mine. Obviously this technique needs some serious work!

And with some other Dahlias:

I'd love to play with this idea more and see what comes of it. As they are I am unimpressed, but I bet if I worked at it it might be something worth keeping.
Somebody asked what the background was for the picture I posted in my last entry. It's a 1 yard piece of fabric. It's an abstract batik pattern with a lot of different colors in it, and it just so happens that one area of it matched that flower almost perfectly!
Lauren, the color combo on this is seriously wonderful!! I love the feel of the last play with the dahlias in the background; for some reason it makes me think of waterlilies.
ReplyDeleteI love the color combo here, too. Fabulous! So beautiful.
ReplyDeleteGoodness...I love the soc but the last one is so amazing. I love the textures. They combine to just look like a work of beautiful art.
ReplyDeleteI agree, the flower against that blue is DIVINE! And I do love your plays- they take it to a whole 'nother level of artisticness! (is that even a word? LOL)
ReplyDeleteI think these work so well. I love the background you have chosen. i am always inspired by your images.
ReplyDeleteI like the sooc but the blue background really adds to it and I like the butterflies.
ReplyDeletejust sooc is great and then you take it to a whole new place! awesome work!
ReplyDeleteOoh, I'd give my right arm to get any SOOC shot like yours. (Not really, cuz then I couldn't shoot right LOL.) I definitely think you're on to something with your plays, especially that last one. Can't wait to see what else you come up with, although I love your original style so much.
