Played with the news lens today...

There is a woman named Anna who does amazing macro work. Really amazing. You can see some of her stuff here: http://twopeasinabucket.kaboose.com/userprofile.asp?user_id=89687

She's been kind enough to give me some guidance the last week or two. I owe her in a big way! She recently posted a photo of a pink and white fringed tulip, so I bought some today so that I could work with them as well, I really loved the details on the edges. I had hoped to at least purchase different colored ones, but the only fringed tulips my market had were the same as hers. I sure hope she doesn't mind!

The difference between this lens (Nikon 105mm VR macro) and the 60mm I rented last week is astounding. The color is fabulous. Plus, this lens is SO smooth and responsive. I love it.

Anyhow, here are a couple of my first images with my new lens....cropped, sharpened for web, that's it.

  1. Stunning, breathtaking, knock-yer-socks-off macros! I just got a new macro lens too and I have yet to take anything like yours. WELL DONE!

  2. I like the 3rd one best...think it's the composition of it. The green behind the pink/white is nice.
